Model Railroading in Hendersonville, NC

Apple Valley Model Railroad Club (AVMRC) is located in the over 100 year-old historic Hendersonville Depot at the corner of 7th Ave. and Maple Street. This 50+ member club has constructed a fully scenicked HO model railroad representing Hendersonville and Western North Carolina. What a great place to bring your out of town friends or grandchildren!

The club is open to the public every Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Southern Railway caboose is also open to the public on Saturdays.  Admission is free.  Donations are accepted.  The club holds regular closed membership meetings on the 4th Wednesday of each month at 10:00 am at the depot.  Organized operating sessions for club members only are held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month in the morning.  Visitors desiring to meet with club members on Wednesdays should make contact with a member in advance to arrange to be met and escorted.  Contact us here.

7th Avenue Historic District Events

Depot renovations being celebrated HENDERSONVILLE — The Historic Seventh Avenue Business District received a $75,000 grant to renovate the Hendersonville Train Depot.  Working with the Apple Country Model Railroad Club and the city of Hendersonville, renovations began in the summer of 2005 and were completed in two years.  The total cost of the project was $110,000.
